Where to get what
From SwissEntrepreneur
My intention with this page is mostly to maintain a collection of links and recommendations in the category of "I need X. Who/where is the best supplier of X"? Please don't just add a link to your favourite pet shop - the internet is full of collections of links, so please add your personal comment, perhaps what you've used them for, how they to work with, delivery times, what ever.
I do intend to order everything custom essays into categories to make the access easier, but for the moment there's just this one page.
If you haven't got the time or the information to do the whole thing, just add a place holder - somebody else might just have the information you're after.

- the telephone business directory
- googling

Business cards
- Vistaprint
- onlinedruck.ch [1]
User:Pjessen I've used Vistaprint from the very beginning. The fact that you can do your own designs, upload them as PDFs, and then review the final version before you order, was and is a major selling point to me.
I've been informed by a Swiss friend that the business card format offered is not according to Swiss standards. As far as I can tell the standard Swiss business card is 85x55mm, whereas Vistaprint only offers 87x49mm. I don't personally have a problem with that, but others may.
User:Ralf I have not used onlinedruck.ch myself but recently heard from a designer that they are the cheapest and deliver good quality. He uses their services regularly. What I've seen looks good (friend's business card).
Stationery
I also use Vistaprint for our stationery.
Rubber stamps
User:Pjessen As you will have found out, a rubber stamp with your company name and address comes in handy quite often. Many documents require a company stamp. There's nothing special about stempel.ch, perhaps except the very appropriate name. I haven't tried Vistaprints stamps myself.
Creditcard services
User:Pjessen I don't use any creditcard services provider myself, but it is something you will typically need for an internet shop, especially if you have international customers. I know of several providers:
Electronics, computer hardware etc
User:Pjessen I use a couple of different places, depending on what it is I'm after:
- www.pcp.ch I use pcp.ch for most things computer related including consumables. They run an excellent website and also provide an excellent overall service. They are quick to answer questions, they're flexible and they offer fixed shipping-costs of SFr12.00 regardless of size and weight.
- www.arp.com ARP Datacon is a much larger shop with an international presence. The website is a bit utilitarian. They tend to have a more professional selection in tools, cables and networking equipment which is usually why I would use them.
- www.distrelec.ch Distrelec I've used mostly for electrical and electronic components.
- www.conrad.ch Conrad is probbaly one of the biggest European retailers for electronic components, gadgets and - well, they have an immense selection of all sorts.
Office supplies
User:Pjessen We generally use just one place - www.fuerrer-direct.ch, now www.lyreco.ch. They're fast, do deliveries using their own trucks and use returnable packaging which the driver will pick up on the next delivery. I have occasionally been to Office World in Dübendorf and we've also ordered one or things from viking-direkt.ch.
Merchandise
User:Pjessen I'm not sure whether this is the right title, but if you're looking to have e.g. t-shirts or baseball caps made with your logo prominently displayed, I can recommend [Wild Shirt&Print]. I've recently had 20 polo-shirts made in the Erlenbach shop, and have no complaints. Judging by the various gadgets, mugs, and pens on display in the store, I'm guessing they probably also do other things.
Sichtmappen
User:Pjessen I'm not sure what these are called in English - in Danish they're "charteque". I had 1000 printed at [Plasti-Pac Zürich AG]. They are a bit pricey for such small numbers, but the service was good, communication easy, and delivery prompt.
Banner roll-ups
User:EdMcGaugh I have just received some banner displays from a company called CAMPUS Digital Printing and they are fantastic and I got them in one week. I bought the 1x2 meter size and construction is solid and my logo is printed on heavy gauge plastic so it looks like it will last a long time. I bought 10 of them and they only cost 79 euros each!

Graphic artists
User:EdMcGaugh If you need a graphic artist to work up your design I strongly recommend: BCB Design - Graphic Design and Marketing Communication services... providing support for your marketing materials, booth design and more.

Felicia designed the Expat-Expo logo for us and did all the work necessary for the banners.
- Christian Hügin Kommunikationsdesign We've worked with Christian Hügin both directly and through others, last time for topsoft in Winterthur 2008 where he designed the artwork for our stand. He works in German and English.
Marketing/Communication
- Christian Rintelen We have worked with Christian Rintelen quite a bit - his new website even shows a brochure he did for us in 2004. Christian is essentially a one-man-band, but can draw on a wide array of resources and people in the industry. He works in English and German, and he can be a little choosy with respect to which jobs he will take on. He likes technical stuff, as you can also tell from his website.
